Early March Newsletter

Next Meeting
This Sunday, 8th March at 3.45pm at Acton Baptist Church.
Please come on time and speak to someone you do not know very well!

Lunch option before each meeting:
This is available if you feel like it would be helpful for the people you are inviting to meet a few people in a home setting before coming to the meeting. You are also welcome if you just want to hang out with others from Antioch, even if you don't have any guests to bring! This Sunday, it’s at the Turner’s (stupendous!) Please reply to the WhatsApp messages if you can.
Children's programmes:
These will be running as usual, with added capacity for any guests who may join. If you have any questions, please reach out to Lizzie Potter.
Intercession:
Keep praying. We are proposing to fast together on Wednesdays before each meeting going forward (next 18th March), and we will have a 15-minute intercession
time on Zoom on those days. Details of the Zoom call will be sent out via cluster WhatsApp groups.
New WhatsApp Group for Announcements:
We have created a new WhatsApp group, which we will invite new people to join so that we can send out announcements and invitations. Given how public it will be, we have set it up to protect the privacy of members - i.e. others in the group won't be able to see your number. Please use this link if you wish to join this
group:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/LHTGWdJH7cdCDT3HhimTIn
Communication going forward:
We will mostly use our cluster WhatsApp groups. Please let us know if WhatsApp doesn't work well for you, and we can make sure you get the information in an alternative way.
Please reach out to any of us if you have any questions.
- JP, Lizzie, Ralph, Daniele (Baz), Karl, and Emzo

ADVANCE NOTICES:
Saturday 11th April - Antioch Day– London School of Theology, 10am to 8pm.
We plan another day together with a focus on "Committed to the Unity of the Body of Christ" and what it means from history, in our respective churches and for us as the Antioch Community.
We plan to have a children & youth programme as we did last year with help from Kairos.
We also plan to have a Seder meal together.
Please sign up through Church Suite or contact andre@antioch.org.uk
15th-19th April - Our Visitation.
We have some wonderful people from other Sword of the Spirit communities visiting us in London to listen, discern and help us to prosper and grow. As part of this, We will be sending out a survey soon, very similar to that of May 2024. Please respond with your opinion and thoughts in the timeline given. It really helps us in
leadership, and the Visitation Team hear what God is doing and how we can improve.
We are also planning interviews with the team, where they ask you questions and you give your feedback. Please let andre@antioch.org.uk know if you're interested in being interviewed, and please be flexible if asked!
European Zone Football Tournament 1st – 3rd May 2026
London is the host this year (yeh! Football is Coming Home!), and the Tournament Team are on the case, finding berths and venues.
Please fill out the hospitality
survey and be incredibly generous.

This half year does look very busy and perhaps daunting (at least for me!), but we serve the Lord Jesus and will gain so much more than we give. This is our call:
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.
Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
(Romans 12:9-13)
Amen!
Neil Yates,
Senior Co-ordinator

- Pray for the brothers and sisters displaced from and under persecution in Nicaragua, for mercy, provision and freedom for the gospel.
- Pray for our King and Government, that wise decisions are made for the common good. Pray that the Assisted Suicide Bill fails in parliament.
Prayers for Consolation and Healing
- For Ralph and Mary.
- For Maddy and Ian Bird. Praise God for Maddy’s growing strength and pray for Maddy's complete restoration and for a new path in her retirement, and for Ian as he cares for her.
- For Clare and Caroline, and the wider family, as they mourn the death of Nora and plan the funeral.
- Especially pray for Tom, that he can return from Sierra Leone swiftly.
- For Arthur's mum, Claire, for her Parkinson's, which causes her to fall regularly, for wisdom for the family as they care for her well.
- For Jean Everington (John's mum) and for her care.
- For Mimi Turner to be symptom-free for return travel.
- For Lui Wood, giving thanks for successful surgery and praying for her swift recovery.
- For Stevie McGill, still in an induced coma after his fall and head trauma. Please earnestly pray that his brain heals completely, and he has full cognition when he wakes up. Pray for Elaine and the family, really shocked by events, seeking God’s purposes and consolation in it all.
- For Dominic Perrem, rejoicing at the success of surgery, for a swift recovery and peace for the family.
- For continued miraculous energy for Ken Noecker and Des Dick in their continued service in Christ and for complete healing.

- Pray for Acton Homeless Concern and Hillingdon Lunch Club, as they care for the poor.
- Pray for Fr. Paul Uwemedimo and his work with the poor, especially in Payatas, through the Puso Ng Ama Foundation (PNA).
- Pray for those damaged by abuse, especially those that we know.
Prayers for Growth
- For our "Is There More" Meetings in March, that God clearly lays on our hearts who to invite, and for a great response. Pray for those who have come, that they come back and really experience God’s presence in a new way with us.
- Pray as we discern whether to continue with the invitation meetings after Easter.
- For all our young families and pregnant mums, for grace, joy and energy!
- For those considering exploring being Coordinators in Training and Senior Women Leaders in Training. May God help them to say YES, at least for one year!
- For our wider Leadership Development Team, that God inspires them to continue in his mission with us.
Prayers for the Gospel Mission
- For our local churches, especially those in Acton looking for new leaders, that God would bring his chosen to extend His kingdom in our areas.
- For Koinonia - for miraculous encounters and powerful interest from many students, particularly at Imperial College and for folks to reconnect after the holidays and relationships to rapidly deepen and be led by the Holy Spirit into conversion and vital discipleship.
- For YPO, for encouragement and success in reaching new friends at their events going forward!
- For our neighbours, colleagues, friends and family. Lord, give us divine opportunities and the courage to speak!
Thank you for your prayers for Koinonia!
Incredible! We had a most wonderful time serving at the Kairos Weekend in Poland two weeks ago!
We were witnesses to the power of the Holy Spirit as it moves through the lives of the young people across Europe who attended the retreat.
It is difficult to fully describe this kind of trip. The retreat was held at a centre located just a few minutes away from Auschwitz, which holds the memory of so much destruction in WWII. Yet while this heaviness often could be felt in the atmosphere, we also felt a burning joy in the company of fellow missionaries and students.
We threw snowballs, we prayed together, and we laughed a lot!
Many students shared testimonies with us of how they felt called, often quite suddenly to listen to Christ and take a brave new step into a genuine relationship with the Lord.
It was as though the Lord was gently disarming all the typical worries and struggles many of us have built up as big-city missionaries.
Perhaps it is only by making new friends with disciples from across the world that we are properly reminded that yes, it is the same God, with the very same faithfulness, who speaks with all of us.
Did not our hearts burn within us? (Luke 24:32)
