This week of prayer for Christian unity is at the heart of the ecumenical call of our community.  We therefore strongly encourage us all to enter deeply into this week of prayer, to use the materials provided, and to cry out to our Father in heaven that the prayer of Jesus would be fulfilled and that his people would be one.

The readings, reflections and prayers are drawn from the texts that have been prepared for all churches in all nations. In the Sword of the Spirit these have been fleshed out with testimonies from our brothers and sisters from the 'east' that we may be enriched and encouraged by their experiences of our God, even though their expressions of worship may be unfamiliar to us.
