Antioch Day - 11th April
2026
This Saturday, 11th April at 10am, London School of Theology.
Green Ln, Northwood HA6 2UW
Our theme for the day is:
“Committed to the Unity of the Body of Christ”
Our Purpose is to ensure all members, particularly those who have joined Antioch in the last 10 years,
understand what it is to be a member of Antioch as an Ecumenical Community, and to embrace the
reason, calling and costs for themselves and to say YES.
Please arrive for 10am, and proceed through the main LST entrance and up the stairs to the first-floor
balcony for refreshments. There is plenty of parking available.
DO NOT USE THE LIFT UNLESS you need to and ONLY TWO PEOPLE AT A TIME!
We will gather in Room A/B at 10:20am with announcements, and Children & Youth will be collected from their parents by the Kairos Team (listed below, at bottom of page).
There will be a creche in Room D off the first-floor balcony.
Parents – please bring equipment and toys!
We will begin a morning meditation led by Mags Tierney from about 10.30am, based on John 21, using
the Lectio Divina approach.
We will then hold three workshops/seminars:
Seminar 1: Being Catholics in an Ecumenical Community – led by Tony Laureys, Regional
President, Europe and the Middle East in Room A/B.
Tony will speak about being Catholic in an Ecumenical Community.
I suggest this seminar is for all of us, whether Catholic, Protestant or Orthodox, to understand
the necessary relationships between Catholic members and the Vatican and the choices and
costs Catholics need to make to be a part of an Ecumenical Community.
Seminar 2: Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox and Catholic - Why? – Led by Neil Yates & Dan Turner in Room C.
To help us all understand the profound differences between our respective churches, Dan and I
will run a Menti quiz (no cheating, please!) and explain why these differences exist, so that we
appreciate the cost of holding profound differences and still being part of an Ecumenical
Community.
We will run these two seminars twice at 11.30am and 1.30pm to allow a smaller group to
participate and engage with questions and, hopefully, answers.
Lunch, in the refectory, will be at 12.30 pm with Children and Youth joining their parents.
Children and Youth will rejoin the Team at 1.30 pm at the balcony.
We will take a short refreshment break at 2.30pm our final seminar.
Seminar 3: Why be Ecumenical Today? Led by Arthur Delargy, held all together in Room A/B.
We will take a short break at 4pm (with Children & Youth joining their parents), before starting
our prayer meeting in Room A/B at 4.30pm, (with Children & Youth back with the Team).
Our Prayer Meeting theme will be to renew our call to be “Committed to the Unity of the Body of
Christ”
At the end of this time, we will pray for and commission our new Coordinators in Training and Senior
Women Leaders in Training.
We will then move to the refectory for 6pm to begin a Seder Meal all together as part of our celebration
of the feast of the Resurrection (Hallelujah!), with a short presentation on Kairos, finishing by 8pm.
