Week of Prayer and Fasting

This Monday through Friday is a week of Prayer and Fasting for us culminating in our Members Meeting (online) on Sunday evening.

Dear brothers and sisters,

As you may be aware, our annual Week of Prayer and Fasting (WoPaF) starts tomorrow, 30th March, and culminates in an online Members Meeting at 8pm on Sunday 5th April.

As in previous years, we have daily themes for intercession. This year, those intercessions will have a focus on the needs we see as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. We also believe this week is a time for us corporately and individually to seek the Lord in earnest repentance, faith and hope. These last few months have been a chastening time for the Sword of the Spirit and the Lord has spoken to us prophetically in the midst of them. Consequently, in addition to the time of intercession, we have included a time each day for us to make a personal response to these 'prophetic themes'.

We've attached 2 documents with this email which we encourage you to read as we set out on this week of seeking the Lord together:

The daily intercessions and prophetic themes, including an orientation to the week;
A summary of the prophetic word we have received in Antioch over the last few months together with its discernment, and 2 letters we have received from the SoS President, Jean Barbara, this month including prophetic exhortation and encouragement for us as a community of communities. Please read this as it gives helpful context to why we are encouraging everyone to make a personal response of repentance, hope in the Lord alone, and witnessing to His goodness.
To help us this week, we will also be arranging times of daily online corporate prayer which you are welcome to join. This will take place 3 times daily, Monday-Friday. Hugh will be in touch with more details and a sign-up sheet for hosting these.

As in previous years, let's be attentive to the Lord's word for us. If you have a sense during the week please send it by email to Arthur for consideration. We will be hearing and responding to the prophetic word during our online members meeting on 5th April. More details will follow in due course.

May the Lord draw close to you as you draw close to Him during this week;

Arthur, on behalf of the Joint Councils
